ABOUT JACOB: Jacob grew up on Long Island’s south shore in a house full of music, with two guitar-playing parents and records spinning constantly. His first concert, Richard Thompson, changed everything. Watching Thompson hold an audience in the palm of his hand, Jacob knew he had to perform.
He trained under jazz guitarist Bobby Watts, played in bands through high school, and learned the other side of the stage by running sound for punk shows in a local record shop and later for theaters across Long Island.
In 2019, he moved to Ireland, where he played alongside local musicians and explored the deep roots connecting American folk and Irish traditional music. He came home with a storyteller’s ear and a new devotion to traditional sound.
Today Jacob writes and records original music blending folk, blues, and world influences, moving easily between guitar, mandolin, banjo, lap steel, piano, bass, and ukulele.
